As an organization that represents the tuna value chain and promotes sustainability in fisheries, we urge that sustainable and responsible fishing be a strategic pillar of the pact, incorporating its economic, social, and environmental dimensions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\ud83c\udfa3 At BTWC, we emphasize that sustainable fishing is a driving force behind marine conservation and a fundamental element for food security and the development of coastal communities. The association underscores the importance of applying science-based principles, ensuring traceability and transparency throughout the value chain, and strengthening international partnerships for responsible fisheries management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2696\ufe0f We also call on the European Union to adopt measures to ensure that fishery products from third countries meet the same environmental and social standards required in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
